About

Who writes this, and how

There's no masthead here, no team photo, no founder story. Teddy Lingerie is run by a small independent desk we call the Teddy Lingerie desk. A couple of people, working on a fairly narrow beat: fit, fabric, and whether a specific teddy is worth your money. We don't have a warehouse, a design team, or a store of our own. We buy the pieces other people sell.

Money matters, so here's the honest version. We earn a small commission when you buy something through a link on this site, at no extra cost to you. That's the only revenue this site has. No brand pays for placement, and no brand sees a review before it goes live. If that ever changes, we'll say so on the page itself, not bury it in a footer.

How we actually work

  • We buy pieces with our own money, from the same retailers and listings readers use, at the same prices.
  • When we've handled a piece, we say so. When a pick is included on specification alone, because we haven't gotten hands on it yet, we say that too.
  • If something doesn't fit as advertised, runs small, or falls apart in a wash, we return it where we can and note the problem in the review either way.
  • Nobody outside the desk edits copy for tone toward a brand. Rankings move based on fit, fabric, and construction, not on commission rate.
  • Every guide carries a last-checked date, because sizing and stock change and a stale recommendation is worse than no recommendation.

When we get it wrong

Fit advice is genuinely hard to get right for every body, and we'll misjudge a size run or a fabric claim sometimes. When that happens we correct the article and note what changed. We're not going to pretend our track record is spotless. It isn't anyone's.
